Museum Passes

Trumbull Library's Museum Pass Program provides the opportunity for your family to enjoy a day trip in Connecticut at little or no cost. Funding is provided by the Trumbull Library, and by the Long Hill Garden Club.

Obtaining a Museum Pass
Availability of passes can be checked in person, or by calling the Children's Services desk at the Trumbull Library at: 203-452-5197, or the Fairchild Branch at: 203-452-5196. Please note that holds cannot be placed on museum passes. They are loaned on a first come first served basis only.

Passes will be loaned out for 2 consecutive days. A late fee of $5 per day will be charged if the pass is not returned to the Library Circulation Desk by opening time on th 3rd day. Passes must be returned to the library from which they were borrowed. Passes may be put in the bookdrop outside when the library is closed.

Museum passes are free to Trumbull residents. Patrons are responsible for any fees beyond those included with the pass (for example, parking, special exhibit admissions). Patrons will be assessed an additional fee if the pass is lost.

Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo has been the state’s only zoo for more than 80 years.
The zoo’s 300 animals include endangered tigers and bears.
Pass: $5 admission per person for up to 6 guests.  Limited to 1 family per day.

At the Old State House, expect to find historically-restored rooms, guided tours, an exhibit blending US History, Connecticut state government, civics and citizenship and an interactive floor dedicated to the history of Hartford.

Earthplace-The Nature Discovery Center - Also available at the Fairchild-Nichols Branch. Check Availability

Founded in 1958 and accredited by The American Association of Museums, Earthplace maintains a 62 acre wildlife sanctuary with trails, contains an interactive natural history museum, houses live wildlife for public viewing and hosts many public nature programs and events.

The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, the oldest public art museum in the United States, was founded in 1842 by Daniel Wadsworth. It exhibits more than 15 different shows each year.
Pass: Free admission for 2 adults and 2 children (ages 6 - 17); children under 6 are free. Special exhibitions may require additional fees and the pass is not valid for annual fundraisers including the Festival of Trees and Traditions of Fine Art & Flower events.

The Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History was founded in 1866 by philanthropist George Peabody at the urging of his nephew Othniel Charles Marsh, one of the great 19th century scientists and the first professor of paleontology in North America.
Pass: $5 discount off admission for up to four people.

State Parks and Forests Day Pass Check Availability
Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection
This pass waives vehicle entrance fees for State Parks and is valid for 2 adults and 4 children at Dinosaur, Fort Trumbull and Gillette Castle State Parks.
