2009 Clothesline Project @ at the Trumbull Library

A community event designed to increase awareness of the impact of violence against women and children. Sponsored by: Trumbull Cares, Trumbull Library, Trumbull Rotary, Trumbull Public & Private Schools, Trumbull Woman’s Club and The Center for Women and Families of EasternFairfieldCounty.

speakFriday, Oct. 9th @ 7 PM ~ Concert & Movie The band, “Sunday At Grandma’s” will perform followed by the movie, Speak - a story about Melinda (played by Kristen Stewart of Twilight), a smart and spirited high school freshman who retreats into self-imposed silence after she is raped one night at a party.  Eventually through her work in art class, she begins to reach out to others. This evening is an introduction to the weeklong project. Pick up a free T-shirt to decorate.  Refreshments provided.

clothesline projectOct. 9th – 16th ~ Clothesline Display Pick up a free T-shirt to decorate at the Library.  The decorated  T-shirts with messages and illustrations prepared by victims or concerned others will be on display throughout the week.


bonnie lee pandaOct. 16th @ 7 PM ~ Candlelight Ceremony & Concert by Bonnie Lee Panda A Cheshire native, Connecticut Magazine recognizes Bonnie Lee as one of the new generation of singer-songwriters in Connecticut with a “big voice and telegenic looks.”  Her music is a blend of country and folk with soul. Meet @ Clothesline for a Candlelight walk to Town Gazebo.
